Queen Anne Boleyn, The Downfall

Acrylic on primed card. This image maps events from when Anne was arrested on the 2nd of May 1536 until her execution on the 19th of May 1536. “Masters I here humbly submit me to the law as the law has judged me, and as for my offences I here accuse no man, God knoweth them, I remit them to God. Beseeching him to have mercy on my soul and I beseech Jesus. Save my sovereign and master the king, the most godly and gentle prince that is and long to reign over you. To Jesus Christ commend my soul”. Anne’s last words spoken at eight o’clock in the morning 19 may 1536.
