These ancient bristlecone pine trees are some of the oldest in the world. The Shulman Grove, located in the White Mountains of California, is at over 10,000 feet elevation. A number of the trees have been dated to over 5,000 years old by counting their tree rings. These ancient trees are also a source for analyzing past climate changes. Their power and beauty are stunning. Image copyright Cher Peterson. All rights reserved.
