Mining Statue

This area was of heavy mining and pottery for many years, now it has all gone, this statue was recently erected in memory of the miners. The plaque on it reades, " Its only a hole in the ground son, you will soon find your way around "

The photo looks better than the actual statues. I'm an ex-miner from Swad and I think the statues are awful. Still, good photo, nicely framed with the buildings and a good talking point. One of those rare sunny days as well. Can't be bad.
