Alaskan Midnight sun painted at 13 years old

Painting done from a photo taken by my mother when she was doing a research stint in northern Alaska. This showing the sun in the sky at midnight- during summer time. I used Oil Paints for this one, in order to have the best ability to layer textures and colors.

Beautiful work. Superb brushwork!

Artist Reply: Thank you! This was my first ever oil painting, which I did in art class at age of 13. I still look at it and am blown away that I did this so young

Hello Amy, as I live longer I realize what I'm viewing. Impressionism I greatly appreciated in your painting. Your ability to paint shouldn't be forgotten.
