In ancient Greek mythology, Lamia (Greek: ??µ?a) was a beautiful queen of Libya who became a child-eating daemon. Aristophanes claimed her name derived from the Greek word for gullet (?a?µ??; laimos), referring to her habit of devouring children.[1]
