This is a set design for my Menagerie film which you can see the story boards to on my site www.nwjones.com in the film/story boards section. I actually started this peace as a 3D model. I was playing around with different digital models and shapes I had lying around but it just wasn't working digitally. I picked up a pencil and started drawing the dragon image of the screen of my computer which was the basis for the image. I then place some "real" shapes infront of me and placed a light behind it. Getting to a point where you can put down the reference photos and just draw is good feeling. This one was a mixture as I have to admit that a digital dragon model gave birth to it. I'm pritty damn happy with the path that its pushing me down though. I'm trying to use exagerated lighting and luminance to create the atmosphere and mood.
