Access Denied

36 x 24. Acrlyic/Gallery Wrapped Canvas. This one is symbolic in different ways. An attempt at an explanation: It’s abstract and representational. The angel figure (or child?) is being denied access (to what or whom?), represented by barbed wire which prevents him/her from taking their natural path through the universe. It relates to disadvantaged/underserved populations that face barriers to education, social development opportunities, technology, and so forth. This painting was created specifically for submission to the 2011 USF Creative Justice Art Show. Created on 2/5/11, A. Almondia.
