Saint Margaret of Scotland

The story of St Margaret, Queen of Scotland has held a special place in my heart all my life, legend has it that she refused to eat each day until the orphans and the poor had been fed first. This is of deep significance to me as I was once dispossessed and homeless in the shadow of her castle and chapel in Edinburgh. I'm not a religious man but I admire and respect people who have the goodness and courage to willingly put others before themselves...whether they be saints or sinners "This is an old land. Stone house paperweights. Green fields, its patchwork shroud. Deeper than the dead it sleeps. Light my steps, to Scotland's earthen ears, the living here are shades." "Here are Shades" by Emily Veinglory Specially modelled by Writer and Artist Emily Veinglory watercolour pencils
