Bababoudjies (Babies' bums)

Bababoudjies (Babies' Bums)are amongst my favourites from the endemic Namakwaland succulents. They do not bloom in spring but have yellow blooms similar in shape and for than those of the "Krapogies"

Love them! Would they grow in my desert?

Artist Reply: I am not sure whether they will grow in your desert Janelle. What I do know is that they require the quartz pebbles to help them cope with the harsh sunlight. So if you want to cultivate them elsewhere you will need some of the pebbles as well. I was told that some of these plants even require a certain amount of moonlight to germinate:-)
