The Hug In the modern age it seems people’s fear of Intimacy is more pronounced than ever. They seem to fear losing control of their lives or succumbing to the will of another, and I find this trend almost dehumanising as that human urge to give, console and show compassion leads so many into a lonely, depressing existence. There is an Indian lady, Mata Amritanandamayi, fondly known as the "Hugger" . She travels the world and people queue in their thousands to be embraced for a moment. So this is for all those (myself included) who need a hug. Karen Jones
