Artist Reply: Julie - the shadows I did with iphoto on my mac by 'retouching' or painting in circles with the retouch brush. The original photo wasn't that good and I knew it wasn't going to be when I took it because the lighting wasn't spot on that day but I enjoy trying to pull the best out of a bad shot.
