This is a good friend of mine, Harrison Yocum. He is truly a Renaissance man. He is an expert in succulents and palms and keeps a phenomenal cactus garden in his yard. He was the founder of the Tucson Botanical Gardens, and he keeps the plants at the Tucson International Airport. He is also an expert in rocks and minerals. He plays the piano and the organ, and has composed nearly 200 waltzes and polkas for piano in the style of the famous Strauss family. He likes to play these at parties. He also speaks German and reads three or four languages. And he has visited Europe and taken some fabulous pictures. And if that wasn't enough, he has a wonderful sense of humor, and he is just plain a warm and loving human being. This picture was taken at the international convention of the Cactus and Succulent Society which was held in Tucson. Harrison likes to dress like this for special occasions. This is a ranger's uniform, and he is wearing many pieces of Indian silver and turquoise jewelry. Notice that he is wearing two bracelets, a belt buckle, a bolo tie, and an indeterminate number of rings. © Pat Goltz Thank you for your comments. I greatly appreciate them!
