The remains of a stone circle in the foreground and the remains of a castle on the site of a hill fort at Dunnydeer with Bennachie to the right of the picture. Bennachie is believed to be Mont Grampus, named by the Roman Legions that ventured this far North and gives the Grampian Mountains and region their name.
