61cm x 34cm - Dreams are a gateway to the subconscious. A place where thoughts, desires, hopes, and fears intertwine without logic or restraint. A place in our minds where anything goes. Here, where reality takes second place, time bends. Identities shift. And the impossible feels as natural as the air we breathe. It is a surrealist landscape. One that is shaped not by conscious will, but by the deeper subconscious, elusive workings of the mind. I have painted the man's hand, desperately holding onto the surreal border of this painting. Unwilling to return back to reality. While the hand of an illusively unseen person kisses him goodbye. Until next time... Much of what we suppress in our waking life. Our unspoken fears. Our hidden longings. The emotions we refuse to acknowledge. All of these, and then some, emerge in this psychological space. These fragments of the self remain hidden from us until we fall into our comatose sleep. Revealing themselves in symbols and sensations that defy rational interpretation. This painting endeavors to capture that impression that dreams give form to the intangible. It captures the tension between the real and the imagined. Offering a glimpse into the subconscious mind that we cannot access in our waking hours...
