When I started this painting I was trying for an abstract image. Although it didn't turn out to be a full abstract it has the feel of semi-abstract. In this scene there are vibrant autumn trees in shades of orange and red reflect in a calm body of water. The image is set against a dynamic sky with gold and lavender hues. The pictue captures the beauty of a tranquil lakeside during the fall season.
