Once the epicenter of the music of the counter culture in Detroit, the Grande Ballroom is being demolished by neglect. For $3.00 you could see groups like the Who, Cream, Jethro Tull, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane… the list goes on and on. A mainstay of the Grande was MC5 whose music spoke to and for the youth of the time.
