Sleeve (Tattoo)

My newest tattoo...the roses were flash originally designed by Jo Harrison.

We did change the design a bit...decided the roses should be in black instead of in color. The free-form clouds were designed by Scott Dennis at Lure Tattoo (he's also the one who's doing the tattooing).

The text around my wrist is from the poem, A Summer Wish, by Christina Rossetti (who is one of my favorite poets):
"that I might bloom mine hour, a rose in spite of thorns"

The tat's not finished yet - there's also a couple of bats - but they aren't finished yet so you'll have to wait to see them! :-)

What a beautiful design! It must have taken long to get this far. I love the poem.

Artist Reply: Thanks! This one has a lot of personal significance for me! We actually did most of that in one sitting (thanks to the whole ordeal with endometriosis and adhesions, I don't seem to respond to pain the same way that others do). It actually didn't start to hurt until the very end...maybe I reached my pain tolerance level or maybe that's just because we were working around the elbow. *shrug* The poem was the only part that was done separately - I had it done...um...a year or so ago. We plan to finish my upper arm in November. I can't wait!
