This is a dignified portrait of my cat, Budgee, who later consumed the parakeet in the somewhat surreal background. It wasn't that he caught the bird, rather, I presented it to him after it died of natural causes. Budgee had been watching him for years through a glass door! I have memorialized other clients pets in similar ways, using the information from the client. For example, a tourist once asked if would put her cat on the beach in St. Thomas looking at a lizard. I complied happily. In yet another painting,THE GIRLS, a portrait featuring sisters, I've added a dog who wasn't present and placed him into the painting as if he was there on vacation too!
