The Truth Quark (What's The Matter Alice?)

I thought I could save you From life long days - the love angels pinhead disrupting Cold, numbing waters. As a frozen lake, bathing in light With no semblance of sun Nearer the bottom. Which is where you are too often. While breaking bird bones, Wish for strength to kick down One moulding, worming door. I could have saved me. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ [poem by me] The truth quark - or, now known as the top quark. The most personal piece I have ever done; it's dedicated to Alice In Chains (my favourite band), and the death of their singer, Layne. It's something which deeply affects me even though I pretty much have zero connections to the band. I mean, I've never met them, never seen them live. Just sometimes, you can harbour feelings for something or someone that has deeply touched you even from far away. This loss is just horrific. On a side note; the symbolism in this piece should be blatent. If you are somebody who knows about Alice, and/or reads my journal, then the piece should appear embarrassingly clear ;]
