Baobab is called a National or Family tree in many parts of Africa. The painting is expressing togetherness; sisters and brothers are walking side by side returning home where their ancestor's spirits remains in the villages. Mrs. Zaire, inspired this painting, she travels to Africa probably twice a year. She lives near my shop and a role model to many children in our community. Thank you.

This is absolutely marvelous! I love how you show the togetherness of the people, even without needing to really make them "interact"... just being close and comfortable in the closeness. This reminds me of a lot of folk art I have seen- telling the story of a People with an image.Ginger Lovellette 15 Feb 2011

Hi Gina, nice blend and color choices, all your pieces have a unique perspective. I read a book called "the little prince" it spoke of the baobab as one of his major lessons on his tiny world. thanks for your comments!Joan Wulff 15 Aug 2010
