I love the accuracy, especially in depicting the pheasants but mostly I love the mood invoked by the environment and the sky. Snow is cool to paint, isn't it?

Cathy! you've outdone yourself and if you keep doing that you'll put yourself to shame and then there'll be jealousy and fighting amongst yourself and you might plagiarize yourself (and who would know the difference). You'll have to sue yourself for defamation of your own character... Oh I'll stop now. This is lovely Cathy...You both should be very proud. This is beautiful. It has a look of a Chinese silk embroidery. The detailing of the fledging of the male pheasant is masterful. The snow fits the total look and style of the painting, and I wouldn't suggest you change a thing. However, I would have suggested at the time you first painted this that if you wanted to create a more photographic rendering of snow to increase the saturation of the blue on the snow that is reflecting of the blue of the sky. It would also give your painting a greater sense of dimension. If you had done that it would have undone the beautiful oriental style of this work.
