Lovely, Cathy! Love the winter sky! Great job on the pheasants!

I love the accuracy, especially in depicting the pheasants but mostly I love the mood invoked by the environment and the sky. Snow is cool to paint, isn't it?

Hello Cathy, you did an excellent job at painting snow for the first time. I love the way you pay close attention to details. This is a lovely painting.

Cathy! you've outdone yourself and if you keep doing that you'll put yourself to shame and then there'll be jealousy and fighting amongst yourself and you might plagiarize yourself (and who would know the difference). You'll have to sue yourself for defamation of your own character... Oh I'll stop now. This is lovely Cathy...You both should be very proud. Hey, I don't think you got my new email address. it's dodecaray@gmail, dot you know what, but don't tell anyone, it's a secret. Email me some of your off (yet multi) color witticism and grace me with a generous dollop of the inimitable Cathyisms I'd grown so fond of. Who moi? Oh the same, if to the 10th power but we'll share all that later. Glad to see your creative juices are still fresh squeezed, and not from concentrate. Keep it pulpy, my dear.

Artist Reply: Thank you Numby! I do find fighting with myself less painfull. I have emailed and hope for a reply, also hope you are quite well? Cathy x

This is beautiful. It has a look of a Chinese silk embroidery. The detailing of the fledging of the male pheasant is masterful. The snow fits the total look and style of the painting, and I wouldn't suggest you change a thing. However, I would have suggested at the time you first painted this that if you wanted to create a more photographic rendering of snow to increase the saturation of the blue on the snow that is reflecting of the blue of the sky. It would also give your painting a greater sense of dimension. If you had done that it would have undone the beautiful oriental style of this work.
