Artist Reply: This is from a series of images taken of large driftwood stumps at the mouth of the Navarro River on the California coast. The wood looked like it had been burned and then the wind,sand, water and waves created these surfaces. I have several others fro the same morning not posted yet. Thanks for all your comments! Artist Reply: Great question... Giant tree stump at the mouth of the Navarro River - Burt and then scoured by wind and waves.- Wood entropy in the Pacific Northwest. Many others from the same morning not on gallery yet. Richard
