Madonna of the Shells

"Madonna of the Shells"- the classic image of the Madonna, blending the iconic style with the beauty of nature - specifically that of the sea! Beautiful seashells and corals are painted on the side panels. She has a lovely halo I did in gold leaf. Of course, I had to include my personal favourite of all the shells - the Nautilus - a perfect spiral symbolizing infinity. My husband Matt did the woodwork for the original piece (it was an actual folding triptych, three panels with hinges - medieval/renaissance style). This is my own original acrylic painting. ©Jasmine Becket-Griffith - prints are available at http://www.strangeling.com and http://zazzle.com/strangeling*
