This is a beach on Parris Island, the Marine base in South carolina. It was here that i took a job harvesting horse shoe crabs.. at night, by the light of the full moon during their mating season. what a job that was.. wading through the waters near the shore and flinging them carefully into a floating barge. We walked in waist high water along the sandy beach front. There were hundreds of them. As a starving artist I was just grateful to have the experience visually but also we were paid by the crab !.. it was great exercise for my legs,, hahahaha.. this is oil on board.. approximate size is 11.5 inches x 22.5 inches.. 2" around the edges.. self framed.. wired and ready to hang.. painted with knives mostly to depict the sharpness of the shells.. this was not a beach you would walk on barefoot.. !!
