Wonderful! The affect of the pastel highlights is fantastic!

Artist Reply: Thanks. The client wanted 'a little bit of the brown' around his muzzle. Well, that was just not going to work, especially with color pencil. I tried some pastel over graphite on a scrap piece of paper and it seemed to work. So I ended up using it all over the dog. She got a color piece for the price of a graphite, but I got some great experience, so it was even. :-)

Nice job....especially the expression in his eyes.

Artist Reply: Thanks Lisa. He was a bit of a challenge...so much dark fur. And his eyes were in shadow in the ref. I tried to bring them out more; glad it shows. With all that shiny graphite, a lot of detail is lost in the scan but that's to be expected.
