At the time this was being made. I was trying to vision the Holy Grail in many forms of a cup. Maroon is one of my favorite colors and so it was used as the color in the gold ring. Then one day some one said to me,"does the color inside the ring represent the blood of Jesus Christ?" I paused for a moment thinking, I have been close to the lord for many years but not always to the church.And when i painted this picture i was not going to church at all. Deep with in my mind this challis came about perhaps then my sub conscience was trying to tell me , "remember forgiveness comes through the Blood of Christ in communion." Attending church now as i once did when i was young some answers lye right before us and we still dont see them.
