Bäckahästen is believed to be a spiritual being that dwells close to the water and it is said that his intention is to drown his victims after he’s lured them to sit on his back. Bäckahästen (translated as the brook horse) is a mythological horse in Scandinavian folklore. It has a close parallel in the Scottish kelpie.
