Dutch Diptych: Farmer and His Fields

In case you had not already guessed, the two previous paintings were done together and meant to be viewed and displayed together. They are a Dutch Diptych. Nelly can explain the rest. It has been my privilege and honor to paint Nelly and her son. This is the latest of those family portraits. I wanted to get the feeling of flatness in the painting and could only do that by using two canvases.

It balances out so well, David. How great that you could paint Nelly's family, and the farm. Beautiful and very original work! Did you travel to the Netherlands?

Really so happy with these beautiful paintings!! Thanks David for the great work(s) you did. My husband, the details around, the land, the farm, everything is making the image so perfect!! We will be so happy to see it here at the wall!! Smiling now, all these real Holcombes, we are really in love with your work!!!
