Man Hanging Out

The statue of "Man hanging out" was created in 1996 by David Cerný - an exceptional sculptor, and it's situated in Prague's Old Town. Sigmund Freud, the famous psychoanalyst born in Freiberg, Moravia, which is now part of the Czech Republic, is depicted in this statue form expressing the human condition related to our need to consciously make the decision to live life or to let go. David Cerný uses the image of Sigmund Freud in this shocking position to communicate his own questions about the status quo. During exhibitions in many places all over the world, public at first was surprised to see a body hanging out from such height and police and fire departments were also confused, however it had a big success everywhere.
