Artist Reply: Actually it was pretty much all unconscious. What I was saying before about how I paint something and don't figure out why for several years afterwards...this is an example of that. Thoth makes a lot of appearances in my art, although sometimes He will give Himself a sex change before showing up. And I had not thought of the blood vessels as a tree, but looking at it again, that does make sense and gives it a whole extra meaning. Cool, thanks! :D
