A lady from California once asked me about fireflies. She thought they fell into the same category as leprachauns and fairies. If you're from the mid-west you know they are real, and while I haven't painted them realistically here, they've helped me make the whole world look like a magical place. That surely must be how it appears to our youngest children, a world of delight. May we all remember that sense of wonder.
