I don't think many of you guys would know this girl. But if you are a National Geography Channel watcher, the you should know. She is known as, 'The Afghan Girl', and has an interesting history. Try searching on Yahoo.
powerful portrait !!! makes me think of war tho.. my friend max schwartz has some great potraits of smiling iraqi children from when he was there oh i dont know how long ago.. that are getting some attention
I know this photograph very well. In fact, this young girl is now an older woman and was revisited a year or two ago. I think that the eyes do not have the feeling the original photo had. It feels different. But this is what you saw in the image. I am sure we all see something different. I give you credit for giving an interpretationn of the photo, not an exact copy.
the photo of this woman is one my favorites of all time - i have a large reproduction of it. You captured the beauty portrayed in that photograph and the terrible life of terror that we know today
This girl is very haunting. What's even more haunting is the photo of her in 2001,National Geographic. She's had it worse than most if not all of us.Great likeness.I wonder if anyone has shown her how famous the mature spirit in her eyes has made her.
