MORIGAN'S MASK

Oil on canvas (24" by 20": "Morrigan is the Phantom Queen of Gilgatan, a changeling whose mask - the Fin Cephalarvum - can shift from fish to bird (in this instance, vulture) and back to human again, depending her whim and the forces of tide. As for the tears she sheds, we ask, "...who hears the fishes when they cry?" copyright 2008 Patrick Pierson

I have to agree with Anneke. Not everyone is going to like the same things in art but your work, for those who appreciate this kind of art, isn't just another piece of art. It's phenominal!

You show us extraordinary, wonderful art, Patrick! Not only perfectly executed, but also incredibly imaginary and refreshing. Thank you for sharing your paintings with us, welcome to ArtWanted.

Artist Reply: Thank you, Anneke! I think I'm actually blushing right now. Sometimes folks who see my work for the first time and don't know what to make of it say things like, "That's weird! I'd never hang stuff like that on my wall." It's genuinely refeshing to read your encouraging comments, Anneke. Regards, Patrick
