Symbolism

The belly up boat symbolises the fate of the large building that looms on the horizon. The grand yellow Ocean House Hotel originally opened in 1868. It served as a beacon for thousands of sailors and vacation memories for thousands more. Although she made it through the 1938 huricane that destroyed most of the Rhode Island coast... She met her match with a wrecking ball in December 2005. It was the last remaining waterfront victorian era hotel on Rhode Island's mainland; Not able to upgrade to the new strict fire codes caused by The Station nightclub fire there was no other choice but to take her down. The 159 rooms were musty with beach sand worn floors and lacked TVs, air conditioning, heat, fans, alarm clocks, and wake up calls; but they all had fresh ocean breezes. The new owners are going to "replicate" the old Ocean House with 48 year round hotel rooms, 24 condos, a parking garage with valet, indoor pool, a spa with wellness rooms and private treatment rooms, and room service. You can't replicate charm.
