It's sometime in the 1920's, in the winter, in Detroit. A woman in a blue, fur trimmed coat is carrying her baby bundled up in yellow. She is walking on a city sidewalk just passing a bank. She has also passed two men waiting in front of a delivery truck, to cross the street. One man turns to watch her pass, the other is too intent on crossing the street. Oil on canvas 16 by 20 inches.

Lovely painting with great colours! What a wonderful concept it has. :)

Artist Reply: Hello. Sorry about the length of time it has taken me to respond. I always get a sense of history when I walk downtown Detroit. I can't imagine what a sense of history one would feel in any European city. I also thought about my grandson and realized that my predecessors cared as much for their children as we do today. This is one of my favorite paintings. Again, thank you.
