Mary

"Mary" 2008 -acrylic I've always been a big fan of the idea of a persons actual ppearance portraying the life they've lived. Kind've like that fealing of trudging uphill in the mud...the rain running down your face as you swelter underneath your Bdu's, while at the same time you freeze on the outside....and every step you take, more and more mud builds up on your boots, so that the less energy you have, the heavier your feet get...and the only think you have to look forward to is to get to the top, so you can have a break on the way down, before you had to start back up again. I love your painting and your description, Kamran. You succeeded greatly in your goal, a wonderful emotional image of Maria with her life written on her face!

Artist Reply: Hey, I just wanted to take the opportunity for taking the time to comment on my painting. I had gone for a while without painting anything during my tattoo apprenticeship, and this was actually one of the first ones I had done since coming out of hibernation, so I'm glad you liked it. Kam
