Truly magnificent artwork.

Beautiful detail work, especially on such a small scale. It has a very comfortable late 18th century British feel, but with a number of contemporary touches that update the style to the present. The photographic quality of the birds adds the modernity that make this work truly unique.

Artist Reply: Hi Stanton, thanks for your comments on my pieces. You are right about Labs, what a "mouthy" breed. Thank you for sharing your insight into my work, it is indeed very affirming and helpful.

Suzanne, I really am impressed with your portrayal of this regal pair of canadian geese. It's just the luck of the draw that you didn't capture the 'Federal', this time. That is what a federal duck stamp judge told me when I placed in the top ten before. It oftern is decided by the bias of one judge. In other words, it is not that your painting wasn't good enough at all. So never dismay. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other, like Abraham, and you will come into your own successes and joys. You did good!!
