Artist Reply: Dear Thom... always a pleasure to read you my friend...Always insights, you have :-) While I started with this work, it was the "ME ",that got inspired from my photos, doing it in watercolour.... But while at the process I suddenly noticed something... actually remembered SOMEONE , You know, I had a fabulous teacher for plant drawing ( and more ), he's a professor in England, maybe visiting here even, sometimes.. Once, we made with him 3 pieces of plant watercolours.. yeah with Asian influence... it's amazing, because, I didn't at all thought to do Asian art, but my ART, the way, I know. The painting is still in the process... but developed. Sure you can get inspired by this... if you need the photo in bigger size, for inspiration, just say so.. perhaps for the "door" :-) you know....
