Artist Reply: Thank you Anneke! Yes, the water looks real because it´s the wet on wet watercolor technique, where you wet the paper and apply the pigment with a wet brush and allow it blend on the paper and I had water running all over the paper.... it was hard trying to keep the color from seeping into the body of the white flamingo... for small details I use masking fluid, but this surface was too big so I just stood there with a paper towels and a blow dryer trying to control it! Watercolors look so simple, but they´re not... and it´s the challenge that I enjoy.. it´s like running a marathon, you end up exhausted but so happy that you accomplished your goal!
