Photograph of Puerto Rico's Coqui frog, which is being killed in Hawaii because of its singing "noise" which we all love. Some are under endangered species list, and very difficult to photograph, mainly because they come out either at night or before/during rain. Their singing is a call for mating or alarm of rain/storm. This specimen is only one inch in size.

SUPERB CAPTURE, MICHAEL. WOW.

Artist Reply: Thanks Sharon, sorry for such a late reply :( This is our most loved miniature frog from Puerto Rico. We love it's chanting...hope Hawaiians change their killing instinct against this endangered and miniature living being! They deserve to live!

Beautiful shot! Would like to hear him singing:)

Artist Reply: Thank you for your comments, Ai Shan! It is very sad that these little frogs are being killed in Hawaii due to the "chanting" they do and it bothers people in Hawaii. Here in Puerto Rico we can't think of living without them, and they are different from other types of frogs because they do not go through the tadpole stage, they breed through eggs and hatch! Please let me know if you are an Artist to see your work! Regards, Michael J. Morris-Zamora
