SO.. What do YOU think of AW changes ?

Well.. I knew they would change.. before their e.mail. Didn't I ?..
They promise a BIG Surprise...Indeed a surprise, I could not find my latest posts... :-)) I found images I posted 4 years ago, on FRONT... and MORE..
I wish to know , what do you think of the changes. I have several disapprovals. Mainly it's the colour choice, as I see it now... I prefer to choose myself the colour of my own background, I find this Grey background as male formal colour suitable for lawyers offices, definitely not for a female artist like me :-)) LOL!

MOST IMPORTANT : the the typing comments and reply is IMPOSSIBLE !! AW must fix it, as it was yesterday... and actually I'm sure they will otherwise, ME IS NOT COMMENTING !

I must say I'm very happy with the blog option of adding photos...

Dear Nira I was truly sorry to read on your portfolio that you are not posting again till AW make some changes. I do hope you reconsider if they do not. They should give us a choice of background colours like they did before. As you say, why not the blue and greens not the business like grays. I could not find your messages on the boards. I hope you are ok, I felt you were rather upset the other day and was just concerned. Love Mary

Dear Darling Nira, I did not realise you felt so deeply about the changes to AW, sorry if I upset you by saying you could get used to it. is it possible we can set the background to our own requirements, personalise it? email AW and ask them, it should be possible... Hello Nira! How are you? Love your design. Yes! I think I tend to agree with you on the choice of colour for the background. Grey doesn't really do it for me. It makes the site dreary and oldfashioned. I feel it needs a more definite colour. We are an artist's site and the design should reflect that. Well, that's what I think anyway!

Artist Reply: My dear Rusty... You are not the only one, think like that, there are many. I think an artist know BEST, his/her own needs. I'm so sorry that it takes them so much time to realize. Or to be stubborn on a colour that does not work correct for presentation of ART, That should stand for itself. I hope you can take your time,if not today, then by tomorrow to add your thoughts about the background to the message boards. The link is at the info of my image. After reading your detailed reply to my comment on "the New AW", I took a closer look at the issues you brought up. I have to agree with you that it seems unnecessary to have some of the over sized buttons and drawings that just confuse a person, when simple words would be much more straight forward. I agree totally. Did not look at the 'insides' of the new AW only the surface. Now I see what you mean metukonet.

I posted this massage of yours at the massage boards... As you can see they made now PERFECT FONTS - I'm very proud of them, in this. YET... Still, to my personal point of VERY PROFESSIONAL VIEW, They must solve the background.. I FEEL CHOCKED in this NEW Choice of RIGID COLOURS, My hands are tied without the ability to THROUGH AWAY this TERRIBLE GREYS & Especially the BACKGROUND. Four years on this site... and I realize, they can make such a SHOCK, That I will not wish to visit my own portfolio... 4 years.......Until then... I'm using other art sites, to post my art... Who knows , what they'll plan for us in future, without consulting with us... I must take good care of the presentation of my FINE ART. Good night to you, and I hope you get up to a PERFECT MORNING. Love you, Nira. P.S: I truly don't understand, if they started with greens blues and white, which was perfect choice for such site, why they don't continue with it, BUT... These have the perfection of Mandalas. They evoke snow flakes, each one different, yet all similar in some way. It has a very cool feel from the dominant blue.

Love your design my darling, beautiful work... very feminine, so delicate, and the colours - very 'female' ;) As for the changes, well, I have no complaints myself. Seems to be easier to see things, and the large buttons makes it easier to navigate.. the colour.. well it is masculine I suppose, but it doesn't bother me. I haven't tried to reply to comments yet so I do not know if there is a problem there... I'll have to get back to you on that one. {{HUGS}} :o)

Artist Reply: Well.. my dear friend, WE SEE DIFFERENTLY, The same thing. You have your own way of looking at things.. I have my own looking at things that's for sure :-)... Not ALL The buttons I like... only the sabmit here of a reply and those triangles, though seems to me no needed really the triangles I mean. All the other buttons, of reply and delete of a comment, is TOO BIG, I need no drawing for that. As well as inside members area, like manage portfolio and more.. they made HUGE DRAWINGS..Too colourful, (you know i love colours).. But to my taste... it make the all PICTURE,Inside and outside the portfolio TOO BUSY... TOO BUSY !! LESS FRIENDLY ! Especially for those use the site on everyday base. I prefer the "OLD LOOK", Much more CLEVER It was. Who need so many drawings in the portfolio design , inside and outside the portfolio.. all you need is the written words, CLEARLY.. Delete, hide, reply, for example. If you ask me, if they wish really to do improvements, it's good they gave more options, such as using photos at the blog, instead of , I had to use the services of another site in the past - THIS IS EXCELLENT... But, I think things that were EXCELLENT Here they took, I'm very sorry for this. Also, the reading and writing of comments.... it look so TINY, BUT YOU SEE THE BUTTONS, the drawings of the buttons... AND I ASK... What is more important the " show of the delete buttons" , or my artwork, the POWERFUL Contrasts of background or, MY IMAGE, Your comments,Les... and my reply to YOU. Undoubtedly, they must consult with ACTIVE MEMBERS, Who really use their services on daily base. They know so well, who are them... I see myself ONE. They must REARRANGE THE NEW LOOK, Otherwise they'll stay here with less members. Today, there are alot of competition for them, art sites FOR FREE, Actually, With much better design. Alot of members already left to other sites, this is the main reason, they did the changes to my opinion... NOW, They truly must solve better the NEW PROBLEMS, As i see it. Today, I didn't feel like posting here at all, and I post elsewhere. SO... I'm glad to hear you are pleased with the "NEW LOOK "... Thanks a lot for the visit, ENJOY BEST of AW... Beautifully colourful design Nira. Well things have improved since yesterday, at least I can see what I am typing now! I find it easier to navigate, once you know where everything is but not keen on the grey background. Mary

Artist Reply: Dear Mary Hello, glad to see you here, and read your thoughts. Just a bit they improve it since yesterday.. BUT THEY MUST, Do more.. THEY HAVE NO CHOICE... They must understand that in this site there are a lot of amateurish artists, YET, MANY PROFESSIONAL Too. Not All members understand fully the "NEW LOOK" of the portfolio, as I see it as a designer & fine artist. I just wrote my explanations at the massage boards. I hope they will be clever enough to understand it.. I truly tried my BEST To explain, why this choice of contrasts between Grey+ white is not good for a portfolio. It's not a matter of taste, but the understanding that, these Grey - white contrast "steal" from the IMAGE show. And make the page more busy. Also I would prefer the fonts here, will be the same as the message boards.. I don't understand why it's not. In this "NEW LOOK" What you actually see is the COMBINATION OF GREY-WHITE.. Not comments, and less of image.. it simply take the "SHOW" From the image... I hope they are clever enough to understand my critic.. I very much enjoyed "THE OLD " Look.. it was MUCH MORE FRIENDLY, For everyday user... I'm not the only one think like this... BUT NOT ALL Say it. Not all understand even this subject of design. First and foremost your design is wonderfully gorgeous! Second, it is very hard to type the comments the font size is like 8. The overall look is ok. I need to look around more before I add any more of my opinions....

Hi Nira...This is super Work..AND AS FOR THE NEW AW I LIKE IT I AM NOT SURE OF THE BACKGROUND COLOR MAYBE IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE A CHOICE...i DONT KNOW WHY PEOPLE CANT SEE THE WORK AND COMMENTS I CAN SEE EVERYTHING VERY WELL ? NO SCROLLING UP AND DOWN ITS ALL OK ..AND AS FAR AS THE TOP TEN lolol...WE HOPE THAT MAYBE THEY MAY HAVE A BETTER WAY OF DOING THAT TOO..

I checked at my son, Saar PC , he has a MUCH BETTER,BIGGER Screen then me, he uses different resolution then I.. YET, Also there, the same problem. The problem exists at internet explorer and fire fox, as I checked. I think they must change the typing to the way it was yesterday... Thanks so much, good night, my darling.

FIRST NIRA, I LOVE YOUR DESIGN. SECOND I DO NOT LIKE THE CHANGE. I THINK OUR PAINTINGS SHOULD BE SEEN RIGHT AWAY ON OUR PORTFOLIO, AND IT IS HARDER NOW MAKING COMMENTS. TOO MUCH BACK AND FORTH. ALL I SEE IS WHITE.....WHITE EVERYWHERE. I WANT TO SEE PAINTINGS. ALSO I THINK THE TOP TEN WAS A GREAT FEATURE AND UNIQUE TO AW. THERE IS TOO MUCH SCROLLING DOWN TO SEE A PAINTING ANYWHERE. I DO NOT LIKE THE CHANGE TO AW AT ALL. ALSO WHAT A PAINTING IS...ACRYLIC, WATERCOLOR, PHOTO, ETC. IS WAY AT THE TOP AND THE PAINTING IS WAY AT THE BOTTOM. TERRIBLE LAY OUT.

THIS IS NOT CLEAR FONTS, I see the reply and the comment after posting it,but while writing it, it's TOO Small, and not correct seen. Perhaps it's also a resolution problem, I'm not sure to which size of screen they designed this " NEW LOOK " - They must solve it...!!! ... I wrote at the message boards what I think partly... I agree Nira, I don't like the lay-out. Also I'm disappointed they didn't do anything to protect the images -which are so easy to click with the right click button of the mouse.... In my Dutch [email protected] account there's a possibility to protect your work (@personal information) to avoid people are able to copy anything. When one tries, it tells you immediately: PROTECTED WITH COPYRIGHT!

Artist Reply: Well Olga, I already send them a mail. And it's good that people will give them feedback... PERHAPS On the boards too... Personally, I have NO TIME, For the boards at all, so I post it here. About the copyrights, I didn't check it today, BUT.. I remember that if you use, the usual internet explorer there was once protection of copyrights in AW... Yet, not in Fire fox, I use fire fox :-).. so, I think you can save images , without no problem through fire fox. THANKS SO MUCH, For the feedback..NIRA.
