Although pretty graphic,the previous photograph had the eagle buried deep into the head of the seal,which is why there is blood dripping from it's beak.

Magnificant photo...I put you on P. of Day for the second one before I saw this one. They are both spectacular shots.

Artist Reply: As always,thanks very much Jerie. If I hadn't gotten so close to them the resolution woudn't have been so clear. Because they weren't about to leave such a large prey carcass I was able to get to between 15 to 17 feet from these incredibly beautiful birds. It was quite thrilling! Michael
