Marines - Redone

This is a portrait of my dad & brother. I have redone it the way my father has requested. I extended my brother down and then added some darker areas to make them pop out. Dad: age 17, Brother: age 19 .......................................www.valarieconnell.com

Wow Valarie this is just an awsome picture you have created and what a fantastic idea. My brother and dad were both in the air force and my brothers daughter is in the navy. That would be a grand Idea to do something with all three in it .

Wow, this is an amazing portrait... i love the tonal values... and the subtle shading.... the looks of determination and strength on their faces, yet with a slight boyish sense of wonder and perhaps trepidation in the back of their minds... beautiful job on the eyes and just fabulous pencil work... bravo! :)

Artist Reply: Hi, Sharon...Thank you so much, but other than to get it into the computer (as a photo for prints); it is actually a drawing I did, not a photo, but I am extremely honored that you would think it was. My father (left) was 17 and it was 1968 when his portrait was taken by USMC. My brother was 19 and it was 1994 for his. I had to combine the two and come up with a composition that worked, especially since they were 2 different sizes due camera distances. The original was my father's x-mas present this past year that he got for his birthday (last month :) - a new running joke. :) Again, thank you for your wonderful comments!
