Lovely work, great colored pencil technique. I like the paper choice for this, really helps the images to be set on brown paper.

The pencils look so soft and show up beautifully on the coloured card Ruth. I think it's so satisfying putting colour onto dark paper, looks so affective and real. I love the perspective too, wonderful, talented work:)

Too soon are they grown, eh Ruth - giraffes can sit on a small group's laps for such a short time before their massive heads reach high into the trees - and those tongues!!! Great pic BTW ~:0)

Gorgeous picture!! Did you only use white and black pencils? It's fantastic, Ruth!

Artist Reply: thank you Anneke...I actually used about 10 different colours, beiges, browns, cream, apricot but they blend well with the colour of card so I can see how it looks like I used just black and white.
