Vigilant

This is a spotted fawn on our property in the Blue Ridge Mountain. The deer was so unafraid, that it walked right up to me! Note the fawn's ears; one ear is up and one is down! It was just as curious of me, as I was of it!

Yes So Beautiful, I love the colors Here! Truly Magnificent work

Artist Reply: Thank you, so much, John, for your wonderful comment! I really appreciate it! This fawn was on our property in the Blue Ridge Mountains. She was so graceful and beautiful! This year we got to witness on several occasions the innocent interactions between a gorgeous young buck and a bunch of raccoons, including little tiny babies. It was an incredible experience and I captured it all on my new camera. I even shot some video of it! HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope that 2014 will be a creative, magical, happy and joyous year for you!

Wow, Shannon! This is so very awesome to have such a tame fawn. Great shot!

Artist Reply: Sharon, thank you for taking the time out to look at my photos! I really appreciate it a lot! This is the spotted fawn that came right up to me last year! He probably wanted an apple!!! This photo was taken on our property! I have actually walked up to a dozen or more deer grazing right on the Blue Ridge Parkway at Peaks of Otter! I got close enough to take a ton of photos! The one buck I saw, among the many doe was more skittish! He stayed in the shadows watching over the doe while I clicked away!!!

Wonderful capture! Indeed she didn't look afraid at all as her tail was completely down! :) Perhaps you smelled "right". :) :) :)

Artist Reply: Thanks for the comment, Terri! I really appreciate it! I never knew that about the tail! I figured the fawn wasn't afraid because it was so young! Maybe... I do smell "right". I have always been good with animals! They seem to trust me! Maybe even the wild ones sense that trust in me!
