Boat Sheds

The upturned boat cut in half and used as a shed is a traditional storage shed for fishermen in the North-east of England. Lindisfarne is one of the few places where this tradition still continues. The photograph therefore shows the death of, not only the fishing industry, but also of traditional ways of life. The iconic Lindisfarne castle is clearly visable in the backround.

This is such an interesting comentary, and such an interesting picture so cool and yet so sad

Artist Reply: I think we are in danger of losing so much with the loss of these traditional ways and hope that we are not just left with a photograph to show the diversity of our heritage. Thanks so much for the comments Gerry as always most appreciated. Regards Andy S
