Whenever my son mentions his very first expedition past the normal 2-hour mark into the Pacific Ocean, it is a conversation filled with enjoyable memories and comments. He mentions Pastor White and the men of Victory Tabernacle and Bell Gardens. He mentions the "rock" that linked to his line, the crazy banana screaming shipmate cook lady, the various Channel Islands viewed, the yummy burritos and sandwiches, daddy's anchor, squid and anchovy hooking stories, the Mexican men from Boyle Heights playing guitar and singing... and the surrealistically noisy and persistent scavenger seagull's that followed hard after the chum and bait.
