Hi Kirk, I just happened to run across your portfolio, and was truly enthralled with your work! I chose this one "Clio" to respond to because I have always had a nostalgic heart for these "old timers" having grown up around Newport, R.I. My favorite! Extraordinary light on sails and water. Clean lines, depth, gorgeous blend of colors. The scene might just be my idea of a magical moment!

Artist Reply: thank you. It was indeed a magical moment when I took the photos I worked from. I was sailing in a race against Clio and 8 other boats that day. As Clio set sails and began to get under way the sheer beauty was incredible.
