Kingfisher and Leaping Salmon

In my world, as king or queen of the riverbank, this kingfisher wears a pearl on its head.

A beautiful view of your world Ann, The Kingfisher was a king in the Holy Grail legends when I remember well. The composition is a different one than you usual way of composing. I like the dramatic impact the image gets in this way. Sorry, I must have missed it but I am glad I could admire it today. Sleep well, pleasant dreams....

Artist Reply: So good to hear from you. Many thanks for this much appreciated comment. Imagine you may well be painting at this time in the evening... Look forward to seeing the results... and sleep well my friend with pleasant dreams too...

It looks as if this king/queenfisher sits in quiet contenplation upon its rock among the passing current, while the salmon steadily swim upstream around it.......a symbol of overcoming great adversity. If you believe, then you can achieve.

Artist Reply: Thank you Tina...If I am interpreting what your comment is saying on the level you intend it - ie the inner journey of the soul - the salmon are inteed a good symbol - struggling as they do against the downstream current , leaping over all obstacles... They get there - upstream - to create the next generation. We as humans have the ability to focus on individualised creative consciousnes --- an added creativity to the biological one.
