Birth Of Venus - Original Painting

Since my name is Venus, I figured I should paint at least one Venus. Botticelli's is my favorite, so I painted this one. But....I feel that if I am going to make a copy of a famous masterwork, why not paint it different. We're already seen it produced in replica a million times right? So I threw some symbolism in the mix and painted "The Birth Of Venus" a different way.... being born by way of color, crossing the threshold of a colorless life into a colorful one, like when you have a life altering experience, like experienceing love or death, and suddenly life is more vibrant and colorful....its a new birth in which you appreciate life more. 11" x 14" canvas panel. 2008. I've used charcoal pencil to draw an outline of the features and then painted in with oil. The entire canvas is painted. Frame Included. Comes with artist bio and COA.
